In Memoriam: Master Wolfgang

Sometimes the quietest, most unassuming people have the biggest hearts. Sometimes the greatest heroes are the ones who live authentically day after day in a world bent on oppressing those who dare be themselves. Sometimes the lives of good people end early, and there is nothing to do but be grateful that they touched your heart and life with their unique presence. It is with deep sadness that I announce the sudden passing of Master Wolfgang, leatherman and Pro-Dominant at The Ritual Chamber, of a heart attack on January 23, 2020. He was 49 years old.
In the nearly four years he spent working at The Ritual Chamber, he found a home and chosen family amongst our crew of kinky staff. The only male Pro on our team, Master Wolfgang was able to carve out a niche for himself with clients of all genders who deeply appreciated his Old Guard leather values, quiet professionalism, love of scene theatrics and psychology, and impeccable skill with submissives. His love for our little community was apparent in his commitment to attending our staff meetings, charity and social events, where he was always present in his leathers and with a quick joke and dry wit. He liked to make people smile. I will always remember the drive to Stratford we took last summer to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show as a staff team, because Wolfgang kept us entertained the whole way with a nearly encyclopaedic knowledge of lyrics from his favourite musicals.
A dedicated leatherman in his personal life, I recall him joking recently that since working at The Ritual Chamber he wanted to start declaring “Domination in Knits” his new forte, this due to the number of scenes he was being asked to do in the “Daddy” role. He mused wryly that he wanted to teach a workshop called “Domming in Knits: An Introductory Guide to D/s Play in Power Cardigans and Pullovers”, and that he would talk to Northbound Leather about licensing a line of knit fetish-wear called Wolfgang’s Woolies!
In 2019 he co-ordinated The Ritual Chamber’s collaboration with Northbound Leather on their FETiSH event at the Phoenix Concert Theatre, co-directing a stage performance featuring the TRC Professionals that turned out to be a tremendous success.
Master Wolfgang has always inspired me with his gentle kindness, his love of people and animals (both the real and human sort), and in his genuine desire to continue to learn and grow both personally and professionally. He will be deeply missed by me, and by all of us at TRC.
Rest in power, dear Wolfgang.
The Ritual Chamber will be hosting a Memorial get-together for Master Wolfgang at the TRC dungeon on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 3-5pm. We welcome all kinksters, members of the leather community, sex workers, TRC workshop/event attendees, and all those who knew or felt themselves impacted by Master Wolfgang in some way to attend.
